Scores are based on the card as examined, with category-specific observations recorded alongside the overall grade.

| Centering | Balance of borders and image placement on front and reverse. |
| Corners | Sharpness, whitening, bends, and compression at all four corners. |
| Edges | Chipping, roughness, foil loss, and manufacturing or handling wear. |
| Surface | Scratches, print defects, gloss, indentations, stains, and residue. |
| Authenticity | Consistency of stock, print, construction, and identifying characteristics. |
Grades are not appraisals. A certification describes an item’s observed condition and reported authenticity status; it does not establish a market value.
